Having embarked upon a career in the construction industry straight from School, I have picked up and learnt a huge range of valuable experiences and skills across the sector in the nearly two decades since.
In my late teens I decided to focus my energy on Bricklaying and combined completing my City & Guilds Level 3 at Chichester College alongside working on-site.
Having a trade enabled me to travel the world and I have been lucky enough to utilise it in countries such as Australia, New Zealand and my native Greece.
These experiences have shaped how I work and have armed me with a skill set of techniques and working practices that have made me the Bricklayer I am today.
My initial steps into construction took hold straight from School when I signed up to an apprenticeship as an Electrical Engineer at the age of 16. I did this for 18 months and passed my first year exams at college but an opportunity to realise a lifelong dream by going travelling meant the role was reluctantly cut short.
Upon my return I subsequently found myself working on-site within the Bricklaying industry until I was offered employment as a Firefighter with East Sussex Fire and Rescue. My experiences with the Fire & Rescue Service have shaped who I've become today and I only left to return to construction when the chance to become a Director at Spartan Brickwork & Construction Ltd arose.
These range of experiences and job roles have helped create the work practices that I pride myself on and use on a daily basis. I thrive on being a people person and enjoy building good relationships.
